Habemus Papam! (and stuff)
I know it's old news, but we have a new leader of the church! And it's the good old head of the Inquisition himself, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger! So cool.
Honestly, I didn't think he would be picked. I remember looking at all the candidates and thinking "This guy's good, but it's too bad Ratzinger won't be picked." I thought he was too old and too conservative to be chosen, but I guess the Holy Spirit doesn't really care about things like that, huh?
In other news- I won! You're now reading the blog of the Sophomore class President of Benedictine! Just feel the power, huh? I guess this would count as a political blog- should it be titlesd "Benedicipundit" instead, you think?
And in other news, the Student Ambassador retreat was last weekend. During the reatreat, we picked the theme for ROC Week, made t-shirt designs for it, and did various other things like setting class goals and whatnot. It's certainly going to be a lot of fun being an ambassador, let me tell you, and plus, I get to go back to campus a week early! Not that I hate Omaha or something :)
That's all the major stuff. Paul out.

Hey Paul! Congratulations on your election! Are you also taking the name Benedict? ;)
Which slogan were you referring to (on Katy's blog)that the Ratzinger Fan Club had on their t-shirts?
I wish that the MSM (mainstream media) could see how many people are thrilled about the new Pope; they keep quoting these old radical dissenters who are on some rant (and because of their belief in contraception, homosexuality and abortion are a doomed group) instead of talking to the real roots, heart, and future of the Church, you guys.
Keep up the good work!
Congradulations Paul! I hope this means you have gotten/ will be getting organized now.. or atleast organized enough to get people organized to do your organizing for you!
Habemus Papam! Huzzah ^3! The CF's here have to come back a month early...so I would think your week not to be a burden,a bain, or a (fill in word with negative connotation here) Just give your Mom some flowers or something to keep her happy ;)
Hooray for a long awaited blog!
