I can't believe I spent 6 bucks to see it

Aah, Kansas City. When you live in Atchison, with not a whole lot to do in the general area, KC is definately the place to go. Being a town of a few million, they have all kinds of diversions: stores, arcades, skating rinks, and, of course, theaters.

On Friday, me and a bunch of my friends decided it would be a good idea to go see a movie. I've been wanting to watch The Life Aquatic ever since I first caught wind of it, but I've discovered a long time ago that I have an odd taste in movies, so I wasn't suprised when no one else wanted to see it. Ok, fine, so what movie did they want to watch? Coach Carter, appearenlty. What? Coach Carter?! A friend of mine, Claire, has been wanting to see that stupid movie ever since she first saw the trailer back in like November. I've been telling her since then that the movie looks like crap. And here they are, my friends wanting to go see a movie that I've been resisting for months. So what do I do? Go, of course. Curse you, peer pressure! I thought I had seen the last of you in high school!

Needless to say, I didn't enjoy the movie. Joey loved it, but I've long been suspicious of his sanity. Okay, here's a basic idea of Coach Carter: take Remember the Titans, give the players a basketball and take away the winning the championship part, and make a movie out of it. This stupid movie is like every other "sports drama" out there. Ugh. And to make it worse, the movie quietly supported abortion!

Hooray for wastes of time and money. And of course, after all this, I still haven't seen The Life Aquatic. Stupid peer pressure. It's all good, though, because it was fun being able to hang out with my frinds out in good 'ol KC. Plus, the Chinese food we ate for dinner was pretty darn good.

Next weekend, though, I swear I'm going to find some way to watch The Life Aquatic.

Comments:

Thats a bummer! Atleast you didn't spend 7 or 8 bucks to see it.Prices in Denver are that outrageously high. Life Aquatic doesn't seem to be getting rave reviews tho either... Is it worth your money now or when it comes out for home video? Whatever happens, I wish you luck finding a way to get to K.C. next weekend. I'd drive ya but I don't know if I can get someone to cover for me at work on saturday... Back to reading The Four Loves- I'm off like a herd of turtles.
